ABOUT THE BIKE MS RIDE
Q. Do I have to ride the whole route?
A.
No, you can stop whenever you get tired and support will be provided for you.

Q. Is there a rain date?
A.
No, there is no rain date. We ride rain or shine.

Q. Is there a minimum pledge?
A.
Yes,   For the "Coast the Coast" Bike MS the minimums are as follows:
$350 for the MS 170, $300 for the MS 85, $200 for the MS 50 and $100 for the MS 25.

Q. What should my fundraising goal be?
A.
We suggest that every rider set a personal goal of $500 per person, the minimum for each ride listed above is required of each rider.

Q. Can children ride in the tours?
A.
Yes, however the child must be a minimum of 12 years old and must present a notarized waiver with their parents' signature. NO CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 12 WILL BE REGISTERED.

Q. Do I need to wear a helmet?
A. Helmets are mandatory

Q. If I have a problem with my bike will there be assistance?
A. Yes, we have several Mobile Bike Repair Vans that will assist you if you should breakdown.

Q. What time are the shuttle buses to Long Beach Island?
A. They start at 3:00 and continue until 7:00

Q. Is my registration fee refundable if I change my mind?
A. No, it is non-refundable
.

Q.What time do I need to be outside of my hotel for the shuttle bus on Sunday morning?
A. The shuttle buses will begin at 5:30 am

Q. What time are the buses leaving Pinelands to return to Monmouth University?
A. There will be two departures - 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.

Q. What time are the buses leaving Cape May to return to Monmouth University?
A. There will be three departure times - 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.

Q. How will by luggage get to Cape May?
A. By truck from Pinelands Regional School to Cape May

Q. How many bags can I bring?
A. Two bags per cyclist.

Q. Where does the money go?
A.
Funds received through the New Jersey Metro Chapter's Bike MS events support education, advocacy, research and local programs that enhance the quality of life for people with MS and their families.

Q. What is Multiple Sclerosis?
A.
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild such as, numbness in the limbs or severe paralysis or loss of vision. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50 but the unpredictable physical and emotional effects can be lifelong. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are giving hope to those affected by the disease.

Q. How many people in the Mid and North Jersey area are living with MS?
A. There are about 10,000 people living locally with MS and over 400,000 people nationally.

Q. I forgot my Username and Password.
A. Remember that your username and password are case sensitive. Click here to find your password. You will receive an e-mail with your username and password. If you still have problems, please contact us at info@njm.nmss.org for help.

Q. How do I change my Username and/or Password?
A. First, login to the site using your username and password. Once logged in you will see a link at the top of the page called "Update My Profile." Once in your profile, you will be able to change your contact information, e-mail address, username and password. All changes will be made to your account immediately. There is no need to sign in again.

Q. How do I unsubscribe from e-mail?
A. Towards the bottom of each e-mail message there is a link stating, "Click Here to Unsubscribe from this E-mail Message." Click this link and follow the instructions given to unsubscribe.

 

ABOUT MY PARTICIPANT PAGE

Q. What is a Participant Center Personal Webpage?
A. A participant page is an online promotional tool for your use when asking your friends and family to join your team or sponsor you by making a donation. Once you sign up for an event online, by default, you will have a personal page created for you. You have the option of personalizing this page by going to your bike center. You will be able to customize images, text and the style/color layout of the page.

Q. By default I have a personal page, do I have to change it?
A. Once you sign up for an event online, by default, you will have a personal page created for you. A compelling personal page attracts and engages supporters. While you can spread the word using customized e-mail solicitations, your personal campaign page can be your own creative expression of your commitment to the cause. Customize your page by selecting the layout and style that work best for you. Utilize the elements of text, photo and status indicators to their fullest advantage.

Q. How do I change my personal fundraising goal?
A. First, you will need to login to your Participant Center. On the bottom right side of the Participant Center home page is the location to modify your personal fundraising goal. Enter your new goal and submit the changes.

Q. How do I change my team name, team division or team goal?
A. Only the team captain has the ability to change the team name or team division. The team captain will need to login to his/her bike center and click the "My Team Progress" button on the top right. On the Team Progress page, team captains will have the ability to update the team name, division and goal.

Q. How can I see who has donated to me?
A. Login to the site using your Username and Password. Go to your Bike Center and click the "My Progress" tab; this will allow you to view your donor list and any amounts having been donated.

Q. How can I see who is on my team?
A. Login to the site using your Username and Password. Go to your Participant Center and click the "Team Progress" tab; this will allow you to view your team roster and the amounts raised by each team member.

Q. What is the difference between making my personal page private or public?
A. By default, a personal page is public, meaning your name will appear in the participant search list, and anyone accessing the site will be able to support you. Setting your personal page to private means your name will not appear in the participant search list, and only people you personally invite will be able to support you.
